Hector Centeno-Garcia |
Originally from Mexico, Hector graduated in Music Composition at the National University of Mexico. He has been involved in concert music, TV and Film music composition and audio production. His music has been perfomerd at different concert venues in Mexico by ensembles like the Mexico City String Quartet. His work includes chamber music, orchestral and electro-acoustic, as well as other styles. He was granted by the National Fund for Culture and Arts in Mexico and his music selected to be performed in different music festivals including the National University First Art Fair and Viva Vivaldi Festival in Mexico City. In 2005 one of his electro-acoustic music compositions was selected to be performed at the National University of Ireland in the context of the Sounds Electric '05 Electro-Acoustic Music Festival. Music for film productions include audio production for short films like "Rogelio" written and directed by Guillermo Arriaga and music composition for short films and TV documentary and educational programs. Hector's current work moves beyond traditional music tocomposition in electoacoustic sound art, specifically dealing with spectral and granular elements, in themes relating to Zen, Consciousness and Self-inquiry. As an audio engineer Hector has many years of experience recording, editing and mastering classical music and world music. In the last few years he has expanded this to a deep udnerstanding of interactive digital audio over internet streams and new technologies, which he currently facilitates for NAISA (New Adventires In Sound Art).
